Dallara Automobili
Gian Paolo Dallara founded Dallara Automobili in 1972 in Varano Melegari, near Parma, Italy. The company has an enviable record of success around the world, designing and manufacturing cars for a range of different major motor racing formulas.
Dallara's first modern product was a 1,000cc sports prototype, followed by further prototypes of 1,300cc and 1,600cc cars. In 1980, Dallara designed his first Formula 3 car, which won the Italian championship the same year. Dallara Formula 3 cars have since won championships worldwide.
Since 1997, Dallara has designed and built chassis for teams competing in the IRL IndyCar® Series. Dallara cars won the series championship in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 and the Indianapolis 500 in 1998 (Eddie Cheever Jr.), 1999 (Kenny Brack), 2001 and 2002 (Helio Castroneves) 2005 (Dan Wheldon), 2006 Sam Hornish Jnr and 2007 Dario Franchitti.
In 2001, the company was awarded the contract for the Infiniti Pro Series, the IRL’s official development series. In 2005 Dallara supplied all the cars for the new GP2 series, which supported the F1 races in Europe and also all the cars to another prestigious championship in Europe ‘The World Series by Renault’. Both series have renewed their contracts with Dallara for the next 3 years until 2010.
Dallara also has built a close working relationship with some of the most prestigious motor car manufacturers, including Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Audi, KTM, Toyota and Honda. Consulting on design, research and production of racing projects for manufacturers is becoming increasingly a major part of the core business of Dallara.
The company employs 150 people and has state-of-the-art facilities that includes a new 60% wind tunnel and a 40% wind tunnel, a seven-post dynamic test rig, a Pro Engineer CAD system with FEA and CFD, a well-equipped modern machine shop with CNC machines and two five-axis routing machines, an in-house composites department and the latest rapid prototyping machines, that allow the rapid production of wind tunnel test parts straight from CAD data without the need to produce molds.
Siemens Automation and Drives
Siemens PLM Software works collaboratively with clients to create open enterprise solutions that enable them to transform their process of innovation and maximize value throughout all phases of the product lifecycle. PLM is an increasingly important and visible enterprise business strategy that lets organizations digitally manage product information from ideation to retirement, netting more business value from every product. As our customers' need for digital collaboration between disparate and distant groups increases, we create global access to product data, process information and ideas.
For nearly four decades, our PLM solutions have helped clients speed time-to-market, improve quality and increase revenue. We were the first company in the industry to report $1 billion in annual revenue. Yet, we expect to keep growing as more and more companies begin to leverage PLM and cPDM, the fastest growing enterprise software category.
