The No. 45 DEX Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 team heads to the newest 6- hour endurance event on the IMSA calendar at Road America where full season co-drivers, Trent Hindman and Danny Formal, will be joined by their IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup co-driver, Graham Doyle. The endurance lineup head to Wisconsin fresh off a testing session at the Road America road course on the heels of a successful sprint race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park where the Hindman and Formal secured a top-five finish.  

As the GTD trio of drivers take on their first endurance experience at Road America, Hindman and Formal look to build off their sprint race performance from last year where they secured a fifth-place finish in only the second full-season of the team’s ventures in GTD.  Doyle will aim to capitalize on his experience competing at the 4.048-mile road course in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Championship as this will be his first time running GTD at this event. Doyle and Formal will both be balancing double duty as they continue to compete in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Championship.

“The six hour at Road America brings us back to three drivers with Graham Doyle back on board,” said team co-owner, Wayne Taylor. “Our GTD team has had a good year with our win at Laguna Seca and a Top 5 at Mosport. These guys have shown what we are made of and that we will give it our all and be competitive. For this event, it is all coming down to pacing ourselves, good strategy and executing in the pits.”

The Wayne Taylor Racing GTD team will hit the track for practice at 12:25 p.m. ET on Friday, July 31. Practice 2 is set for 11:05 a.m. ET on Saturday, August 1, with qualifying that afternoon at 4:25 p.m. ET. The Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix at Road America will see the green flag wave for six hours of racing at 11:40 a.m. ET on Sunday, August 2. The full race will be available to watch on Peacock and IMSA TV.

Trent Hindman, full season co-driver, No. 45 DEX Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2: “A six-hour race at Road America simply means more laps and more time racing at one of the best racetracks on the planet - can’t complain at all about that. On a more serious note, a longer format endurance race at our longest racetrack on the calendar creates unique opportunities for strategic calls that we only get to exercise a few times throughout the year. Fortunately for us, the No. 45 WTR DEX team have a great group on our pit box that are more than prepared to execute. Our expectation is always going to be high - to be on the podium, or better yet, the top step of it. We’ve proved that we can be there if given an opportunity, and there is no reason why we cannot continue to be a threat in the longer format endurance events. Landing Graham his first WeatherTech podium would be very special as well - he’s ready for it. Set-up development and having confidence in our car, to me, would be the number one priority for a variety of reasons. Beyond that, it’s the normal approach to any of our events - go fast and avoid anything that may damage the car or land you a penalty. Easier said than done, of course.”

Danny Formal, full season co-driver, No. 45 DEX Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2: “We’re going to the first ever six hours of Road America. One of the most physical tracks for the racecars. It’s such an intense racetrack with some extreme outside curbing that really hurts the car. First time ever, so I’m super excited and we’ve had great success there in the LST cars, and Trent and I finished top five last year in the sprint round. I think we have good momentum after Canada, the team showed that we never give up and that we can always fight with what we have. I’m extremely excited to get back with the endurance crew, get Graham back in the GTD to get some amazing results all three of us together – myself, Graham and Trent.
