The Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing team’s duo of V-Series.R GTPs headed to Road America to compete in the newly formatted six-hour endurance race. Filipe Albuquerque in the No. 10 and Louis Delétraz in the No. 40 took to the start of the race from seventh and fourth position, respectively. After a hard fought six hours, the No. 10 team took home the win overall and the No. 40 team securing third place marking another double-podium performance for the Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing team.

The No. 10 and No. 40 Cadillac Wayne Taylor V-Series.R GTPs took to the Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix from seventh and fourth position, respectively. With six-hours on the clock, Filipe Albuquerque and Louis Delétraz each handled the opening stint with sights set on progressing to the front.

In the No. 10, Albuquerque kept it clean as the field went green seeking opportunities to make moves forward. Meanwhile behind the wheel of the No. 40, Delétraz wasted no time on gaining position, executing a skillful pass in the opening lap to advance to third. The Swiss-driver continued to hold his position when an on-track incident required him to serve a drive-through penalty, dropping him back in the running order. As the two-hour mark approached, both Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing teams came into pit lane for driver changes to Ricky Taylor and Jordan Taylor in the No. 10 and No. 40, respectively.

Jordan Taylor in the No. 40 exited pit lane in sixth with Ricky Taylor in the No. 10 in eighth position to begin their stints behind the wheel. Another series of yellow flags saw a strategic call bringing both Cadillac WTR teams into pit lane, where the team executed two excellent stops that saw the No. 10 and No. 40 jumping to fifth and second, respectively, as they rejoined the field. From the restart, both drivers were determined to capitalize on this positive momentum, with the No. 40 propelling to the lead and the No. 10 in close pursuit behind in second. A moment that saw the two Cadillac WTR machines controlling the field at the front.  

As the race entered its last two hours of racing, the drivers came into pit lane seeing Albuquerque and Delétraz back behind the wheel under caution – maintaining their strategic positions waiting for those in front of them to pit. As the field came to the restart, Delétraz needed to serve a procedural penalty from the caution period seeing him move backwards as Albuquerque continued to push forward at the front of the field.

Albuquerque managed to skillfully execute multiple passes that saw him taking the lead and found some extra luck when he came into pit lane for final service just before the field saw another caution. Delétraz continued to battle from the back of the pack of GTPs, managing to make their way to the top five. With the final 11 minutes on the clock, Albuquerque led the field to the restart for competitors behind made contact that saw the race finish under caution. Ultimately, the No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing team saw the checkered flag from the front, taking home their first win of the season and the team’s second win at Road America. The No. 40 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing finished in third at the drop of the checkered flag, contributing to another double GTP podium finish.

So, a dream day for the 10, especially with all the struggles, all the hard fights, all the doubts - on the drivers and on everybody. We had a winning car, we led a lot of laps, which was nice, but yeah, just too bad, disappointing for the 40 side not to get another result, but great for the 10 car to get a win. I think our team's been on the wrong side of some unlucky yellow flags and things like that through this year. So, it's nice to finally get a result from the team. But yeah, for us on the 40 it’s disappointing.”

Louis Delétraz, full season co-driver, No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “First of all, amazing job by the whole team this weekend. P1 and P3, so we can be very happy and proud. Thanks a lot to Cadillac, thanks to Wayne Taylor Racing.  Obviously, a little bit disappointing. We've had such a good and strong race. I apologize for my mistake on the yellow, that truck was in a really tough position. I was the first one to come there and I just took an evasive maneuver to avoid hitting a safety car that was in the middle of the road and I guess that's the penalty. But we came back, we fought, we didn't give up. Thanks a lot to everyone and to Jordan for the awesome job.”
