After a midsummer break, the No. 10 and No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R GTP teams return to Road America for the newly formatted six-hour Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix. The team comes fresh off a productive testing session at the 4.048-mile Wisconsin road course, and they aim to convert their learnings into race performance as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship prepares for the newest addition to the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup.

Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque in the No. 10 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R, are determined to reestablish their dominance with the endurance format at Road America. The two drivers bring with them a strong history in the sprint format of racing at the circuit, including tallying Wayne Taylor Racing’s first overall Road America victory in 2022 and a podium in 2024, with both feats seeing them start from pole position. The veteran pairing plans to capitalize on these credentials as well as the insights from their latest test to lead the charge to the top step of the podium.

In the No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R, Jordan Taylor and Louis Delétraz, are ready to take on this endurance racing opportunity at an event where they have proven their speed and race craft. Taylor has one win (2020) at Road America from his GT racing days while Deletraz’s best finish was fourth in LMP2 (2023). The duo has proven they’ve got the speed and knowledge to compete around the 14-turn road course after qualifying on the front row in 2024 and they now aim to translate that experience into a formula for endurance racing success.

“We had a good 2-day test at Road America earlier this month,” said team co-owner, Wayne Taylor. “In the past few races, we have shown that we are competitive and have pace, but we keep being plagued with things out of our control. In the past, we have done well at Road America and we expect to be equally strong this year. We are really looking forward to the fact that this is now a 6-hour race at one of the most exciting tracks in the world. Everybody on our team is just hungry for a good result and that is our focus. We need to get through Practice, Qualifying and not get hung up on a 10th of second as the race is long. I have faith in our guys and know we will come off the truck ready and immediately competitive. I have a lot of faith in this team and our drivers and that we are still a winning operation.”

The new endurance format for the fan-favorite Road America weekend kicks off with a practice session on Friday, July 31, at 12:25 p.m. ET. Practice 2 is set for 11:05 a.m. ET on Saturday, August 1, with Qualifying later that afternoon at 5:25 p.m. ET. The six hours of racing at the Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix will kick off at 11:40 a.m. ET on Sunday, August 2, with streaming available on Peacock and IMSA TV.

Everyone loves driving there and it is a great endurance race addition to the schedule, so it will be interesting to see how the track evolves with double the race distance and how that affects the track and car. The WTR team had a solid test a few weeks ago in Road America, and conditions were as the race is expected to be, so we have a strong starting point for the race weekend. This race always has a difficult flow with traffic with having a few places where it is only one lane. So even though it is a long circuit, and unlike Watkins Glen where we can pass in almost every corner, when you catch traffic in the wrong place here it can cost a lot of time.”

Filipe Albuquerque, 2022 Road America winner, and full season co-driver, No. 10 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “Road America is one of my favorite tracks on the calendar. The flow of this track is simply amazing, so now having six hours, it is going to be just great and a lot of fun. We had a test there that went well, which is so important. So I’m looking forward to being back there to race. It’s going to be interesting as well with the pick-up game through the six hours – I remember this very well from when we drive there with two-and-a-half hours it’s already crazy at the carousel, so now with six hours it will be even crazier. I’m looking forward to a lot of things – the area is amazing around Sheboygan and Elkhart Lake, and being in the middle of summer, the weather will be nice, so we just need to get a good result.”

Jordan Taylor, 2020 Road America winner (GTD PRO), and full season co-driver, No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “Road America is one of the best tracks we go to all year, so I think it was such a good move to make it one of our endurance rounds. It’s such an iconic road course that creates great racing, so six hours of racing around there should be very exciting. We have been really limited on testing this year, so it was good to get two extra days in at Road America a few weeks ago. We had some changes that we’ve really wanted to experiment with, but don’t have time on race weekends, so it was good to get through those test items. All our events now feel like a sprint race, whether it’s 100 minutes or up to 24 hours. I think six hours at Road America will be really intense. It’s a high commitment track and once you mix in all the traffic, it’s going to be a big battle. All the long straights at Road America definitely help with getting through traffic, but some of those straights aren’t exactly straight. It also gets very narrow in some areas, so it creates a lot of risk versus reward thoughts when you’re getting through the traffic.”

Louis Delétraz, full season co-driver, No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “I'm excited to be at Road America. It’s one of my favorite tracks on the calendar and I’m really looking forward to six hours on this track. Having an endurance race at this track will be new for everyone in GTP, so I'm sure it will bring some interesting race dynamics and strategies. We tested a few weeks ago and it was positive. The Cadillac V-Series.R was great and easy to drive on this high grip track. Road America is a long track with a few big brake zones and high-speed corners, so it's important to test ahead to dial the car setup and gain confidence as a driver. We've seen this year that six-hour races are still sprint races with the level being so high now that any mistakes are hard to recover from. We will push from the get go. I do expect the traffic to be a little easier than Watkins Glen as the track is longer and has more straights.”
