The Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Super Trofeo (LST) teams competed at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for Rounds 9 and 10 of Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America competition in their final stateside appearance of the season. The four-car lineup of WTR LST’s left the team’s home race and penultimate event with a PRO|AM win – seeing the No. 10 team secure the PRO|AM Championship – a PRO class podium, and a PRO|AM podium ahead of preparations for the final races in Monza, Italy.
In the field for the competitive PRO class, the No. 1 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST pairing of Nick Persing and Hampus Ericsson entered the Indianapolis rounds looking to build on their latest success at Road America that saw an overall win and second place finish. Ericsson handled qualifying duties for Race 1, securing a second in class start. In Race 1, Ericsson worked to maintain position, but an early yellow flag prevented him from making moves forward to hand driving duties off to Persing. Persing kept things clean during his stint and ultimately secured a step on the podium with a second-place finish. For Race 2, Persing took on qualifying duties, but a red flag during the 15-minute session saw him with limited time to put in a fast lap to ultimately start sixth. Persing looked to work his way forward as the green flag dropped, but five-minutes into racing a punctured tire required a visit to pit lane for repairs. Ericsson got behind the wheel around the halfway mark looking to salvage any possible points before finishing eighth.
For Al Morey IV and James Wallis in the No. 7 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST, they kicked off the weekend strong qualifying fifth and third for Race 1 and Race 2, respectively. Morey IV took on the start of Race 1 with a yellow flag limiting progression forward. He came in once the pit window opened for Wallis to take his turn behind the wheel. Wallis immediately got to work and managed to make his way to fourth before taking the checkered flag. In Race 2, Wallis took to the first stint carefully maintaining position from the drop of the green flag before the mandatory pit stop. The smooth driver change to Morey IV saw him joining the field in fourth where the Indiana-native would finish the second race of the doubleheader.
Graham Doyle and Danny Formal at the wheel of the No. 10 DEX Lamborghini Huracán ST in the PRO|AM class had all eyes set on clinching the PRO|AM driver’s championship, which they could do with a win in Race 1. In Race 1, Formal started from first in class showing excellent race craft and diligently working to extend his lead from the rest of the PRO|AM pack before bringing the Lamborghini machinery into pit to Doyle. Doyle tackled his stint behind the wheel in a dominant fashion seeing him take the checkered flag from first in class and securing the LSTNA PRO|AM Championship for the team. Starting from second for Race 2, Doyle maintained his position through the duration of his stint before handing driving duties over to Formal once the pit window opened. Formal found his way to the front of the PRO|AM pack, but an on-track spin sent him back into third. Ultimately, Formal took the checkered flag from second to close out an impressive weekend for the pair.
In the PRO|AM class, Paul Nemschoff and Marc Miller in the No. 41 Metro Sound Pros Lamborghini Huracán ST were ready to hit the ground running in Indianapolis, an event that has shown to be successful for them in past years. Nemschoff took on qualifying duties for Race 1, but unfortunately an on-track incident saw him out of qualifying early ultimately finding a ninth place starting position. Without sufficient time to make repairs for the second qualifying session, Miller was unable to put a lap time on the board seeing him start from eighth for Race 2. Nemschoff kicked things off for Race 1, holding position and avoiding the various incidents on track before coming into pit lane to hand things over to Miller. Miller’s stint saw all green-flag racing, enabling him to work his way forward to fourth before taking the checkered flag. Miller started Race 2 and dominantly worked his way forward all the way to the front of the field before coming into pit lane to hand things off to Nemschoff with 20-minutes to go. Nemschoff took to his stint looking to continue Marc’s momentum with an overcut strategy, but class traffic made it difficult to move forward. The No. 41 team finished Race 2 eighth in class.
The Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Super Trofeo stable of drivers will now head to Monza, Italy for Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals for their final North America rounds of the 2026 season alongside the world competition on October 22-25, 2026.
Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Super Trofeo Driver Quotes
Hampus Ericsson, No. 1 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO) – “Qualifying went really well this weekend, P3 for me and P6 for Nick. We had more pace in the car and were ready to execute in the races. Race 1, I lost a position to Bamber at the start but I kept my head cool and tried to save some tires for Nick and I knew he was going to be super fast and we crossed the line in P2. In Race 2, Nick got hit and as a result had a puncture. Just a tough day. We would have been one of the fastest on track. Just a shame.”
Nick Persing, No. 1 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO) – “Not the best weekend. I felt like we had really good speed. ?I think the team did a great job with the cars. You know, things seemed like they were gonna work well, but we just had some bad luck in the races. We got bottlenecked at the start of Race 1. ?And I feel like we could have fought for the win. Still really happy with the P2 result. But it's just when you know there's more, you always want it. ?Then in Race 2, we just had some unfortunate luck; another driver tagged us, and it wasn't anything crazy, but it caused our tire to go down. So, we just had to take a pit stop and change the tire, and, you know, ruined our race a little bit. But other than that, overall, I think we learned a lot and we know where we want the cars to be going into Monza, and hopefully we can make a statement there.”
Al Morey IV, No. 7 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO) – “I think at the end of the day, two, P4s at IMS isn't so bad. It just kind of hurts to be so close two times in a row. Yesterday, with the contact, we got taken out but had a super good comeback from James. Then today, we just didn’t quite have enough pace - we got beat out of the pits and that was that. Good job to the team, we had a good car, but it just wasn't quite enough to get to the podium at the end. Thanks to everybody, we'll move on to Monza.”
James Wallis, No. 7 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO) – “It was a pretty good weekend. I think Al had one of his best qualifying sessions and so did I. We started P6 yesterday, dropped down to I think P17 and then we found our way back up to P5 or P4 yesterday in class. I mean, it hurts to not be on the podium but it's definitely a step in the right direction. Then today we started third, got up to second, went back down to third and finished fourth. ?I think our out lap may have cost us the podium today, but it's definitely a step forward in the right direction. It just would have been nice to celebrate on podium. On to Monza.”
Graham Doyle, No. 10 DEX Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO|AM) – “Good weekend all together. Win yesterday and second place today. Championship secured. Couldn’t be happier with everyone on the team. It has been an awesome effort all year. Yesterday was our eighth win this season. Win yesterday and second today, can’t really complain about that - especially picking up damage early in Danny’s stint. He did a killer job on recovering and fighting for the lead.”
Danny Formal, No. 10 DEX Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO|AM) – “Race 2 is over. So far it has been a perfect year for the 10 car and today, I felt I didn’t do my best. Rookie mistake. I hit a car that was blocking me and in order not to spin him, I spun myself. Knocked the toe out of the car and kind of drove with the steering wheel sideways the rest of the race. The guys gave us a rocket ship. For us to be able to drive with the steering wheel like that, shows how fast the car was. Extremely grateful and go back to Monza and hopefully get two more wins.”
Marc Miller, No. 41 Metro Sound Pros Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO|AM) – “Indy was a tough one for us this year. We didn't have a very good qualifying session and had to start in the back in both races. ?But we made the best of it in Race 1 and was able to drive up the fourth place, which was, I thought, was a great finish for us. In Race 2, I started, I think, 38th or 36th or something. I don't know. ?There was a lot of cars due to not being able to qualify for Race 2. I’m disappointed as I haven't been able to try to put it on Pole, which was the first non-pole of the year, and it kind of puts us back. Because I usually can start up front, build a nice gap, especially with this race in Race 2 when it went green and we want that scenario to build a big gap and then Paul can just roll to a good finish. ?Unfortunately, I had to start all the way to the back, and I was able to get to the lead. But it was super tiring, and I wasn't able to build enough of a gap. I just got to the lead, and then, unfortunately, we couldn't build enough of a gap to hold anybody off. I'm pretty happy that we got through the weekend. ?A huge thanks to WTR for all of their hard work and effort, giving us a great, reliable, fast car. So, onto Italy, and we're really excited for that. First time for me to race at Monza, so I'm excited for that.”
Paul Nemschoff, No. 41 Metro Sound Pros Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO|AM) – “I managed to get a reasonable lap in during qualifying, then I unfortunately clipped another driver, which damaged the car, and kept us out of Qualifying 2. ?Race one was solid, I kept the race car clean, got Mark a good car, and came home fourth place. It was really solid considering how the weekend started. Today we started from the back, which for Mark is tough. However, he's a PRO and made up 10 spots on lap one, which is impressive. He gave me a solid car, but unfortunately with all the PROs on track we ultimately ended P8. I'm excited about Monza. We're going to be prepared and we're going to go rock it.”
