The No. 10 Konica Minolta Corvette DP for Wayne Taylor Racing (WTR) will start Sunday’s Continental Tire Road Race Showcase on the inside of the second row after IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship qualifying Saturday afternoon at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
Ricky Taylor, co-driving with his brother Jordan Taylor, just missed his second consecutive front-row qualifying spot after turning a fast lap today of 1 minute, 55.685 seconds at 125.9 mph around the 4-mile, 14-turn Road America layout. It was good for third overall among 41 car-and-driver combinations that will take the green flag for Sunday’s two-hour, 40-minute race.
“It was a bit of a funny qualifying session with the red flag in the middle of the session,” said Ricky Taylor, who qualified second at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Mosport, Ontario four weekends ago but was clipped by Christian Fittipaldi today for the outside-front-row spot. “I don’t think we had a real shot at the pole, but I think we have some changes we can make for the race that will give us a good Corvette DP. Over the long run, this track is hard on tires, but I think we have some stuff we can do to help us go the distance.”
The top-five qualifiers for Sunday’s Continental Tire Road Race Showcase are:
1. Mazda Motorsports (No. 55 Mazda) with Jonathan Bomarito and Tristan Nunez (1:54.507 at 127.2 mph)
2. Action Express Racing (No. 5 Corvette DP) with Christian Fittipaldi and Joao Barbosa (1:55.659 at 125.9 mph)

5. Action Express Racing (No. 31 Corvette DP) with Eric Curran and Dane Cameron (1:56.120 at 125.4 mph)
The green flag flies at 4:05 p.m. EDT Sunday with live television provided by FS1 beginning at 4 p.m. Live timing and scoring during all on-track sessions is available at IMSA.com and the IMSA smartphone app.
