The No. 10 Konica Minolta Acura ARX-05 will start the Acura Sports Car Challenge Presented by the TLX Type S on the front row in second position. Full time co-pilot Filipe Albuquerque produced a fantastic lap resulting in a best time of 1:10.112 at 115.923 mph around Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Ricky Taylor will join Albuquerque in tomorrow’s two hour and 40-minute sprint race around the historic 2.258-mile, 13-turn track. The team currently leads the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship with 720 points.

“I really wanted to put the car on pole at such an important race for Acura,” said Filipe Albuquerque. “Obviously I think we had a shot for pole, I missed by 0.095 of second and that shows how close everyone is. I think it’s still a solid performance from us. It’s just the ego that is a bit bruised, but it’s part of the game. We have a good shot for the race. It’s not nice to start on the outside, but the race is long, and I completely trust my teammate to finish the race.”
