The Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti (WTRAndretti) No. 45 DEX Imaging Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 team will head back to the west coast for the MOTUL Course de Monterey at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the fourth round of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.

After a rollercoaster weekend in Long Beach, the WTRAndretti GTD team will look to make the most of the promising pace that the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 has shown throughout the past three events. The traditional 2-hour and 40-minute sprint race will mark the second event of the sprint portion of the season.

“Both Kyle and Danny are pro drivers and they’ve driven together, been successful together," said Wayne Taylor, Team Principal. "I think they bring a lot to the table in that they prove themselves with their Lamborghini Super Trofeo success. I feel the GTD car needed work from us and there have been many hours put into that program to be sure that we’re competitive. The test for the GTD car went extremely well. The drivers were very excited. The track’s just been resurfaced, high grip levels. I think we can go now to Laguna Seca knowing that we will have a competitive car. I think we couldn’t have two better drivers in Kyle and Danny for Laguna.”

The No. 45 DEX Imaging Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 team will get started on the 2.238-mile natural terrain road course for the first time with practice on Friday, May 10 at 4:15 p.m. ET (1:15 p.m. PT), with Saturday’s 15-minute qualifying session set for 7:35 p.m. ET (4:35 p.m. PT). The MOTUL Course de Monterey will begin on Sunday, May 12 at 3:10 p.m. ET (12:10 p.m. PT). NBC will host coverage of the 2-hour, 40-minute sprint race.

No. 45 DEX Imaging Lamorghini GT3 EVO2 Drivers

Kyle Marcelli: "Following a productive two-day test at Laguna Seca, I think everyone is feeling prepared heading into the event. It’s a new track surface this year which has a lot more grip and proved to be much more kind to the tire - the race pace will be faster than ever before I’m looking forward to the traditional 2-hour, 40-minute race distance where there will be more strategy and more factors that will contribute to the race result. We’ve set high expectations for ourselves, and I think I speak for everyone on the No. 45 DEX Imaging Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 team when I say we just need and want to get a result that we all know we are capable of. We learned many things at Long Beach and the Laguna Seca test will certainly help us. Now, we just need to execute to the best of our ability. A little luck would be nice too!”

Danny Formal: “Our second race of the year of the sprint format. I’m extremely excited for Laguna Seca. It was one of the first tracks that I fell in love with when I was a kid playing Gran Turismo, so extremely excited to be back with the team in our second sprint round of the season. We did a test prior to this event, and we felt very confident that the car is going to perform as well as it did in Long Beach. Long Beach definitely was a rollercoaster of a weekend. Some amazing speed just didn't get all the papers put together to get the result the team deserved and really needed. Kyle and I are super excited to get back to Laguna Seca. We have a really good win streak there in Lamborghini Super Trofeo, so hopefully we could bring back some of that mojo for the WTRAndretti No. 45 DEX Imaging Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 team.”
