A busy day at the Grand Prix of Long Beach ended with qualifying to set the grid for the 100-minute sprint race. Due to a mechanical issue in the second practice, the No. 45 DEX Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 team used the 15-minute qualifying session for an install lap and evaluate the status of their changes made. The team will fight forward from the 16th on the GTD grid.
Saturday’s Grand Prix of Long Beach will see the green flag at 5:05 p.m. ET (2:05 p.m. PT) with broadcast on USA Network.
Danny Formal, full season co-driver, No. 45 DEX Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2: “We had a small mechanical issue in Practice 2. We thought we had resolved it, but unfortunately, we will need to continue to take a look at things. I am so proud of my WTR team. They worked nonstop to find out what is going on and we will continue to figure things out. I am looking forward to tomorrow. I love these kind of races. With my karting background, it is very similar: the walls are very close to you, you need to push the car to the limit. We have to be positive about tomorrow. We have a lot of fresh tires (compared to everyone else (he joked)), so we will keep the positivity up. Trent and I know we have the best guys to make it happen.”
