Continuing their spring racing action, the No. 45 DEX Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 team and Danny Formal challenged for the 15-minute qualifying session at Road America. Formal and the other 12 GTD class competitors navigated the 4.018-mile road course to set the starting grid. Formal, who had the second fastest lap in the weekend second practice session, was keen to use the same speed into the qualifying session.
With a clean and fully green session, Formal stayed within the forward half of the grid as he clicked away laps. As the checkered flag flew, Formal posted his best time of 02:04.625 to start seventh on Sunday.
The MOTUL SportsCar Grand Prix at Road America will go green at 2:10 p.m. ET with all broadcast available on Peacock.

Danny Formal, full season co-driver, No. 45 DEX Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2: ““Kind of disappointed with qualifying today. You are always going to be disappointed when you go in thinking you will have a top three result, and it doesn’t happen. The No. 45 car felt incredible, perhaps the best we have had since the inception of the program. I had really good laps and must have done four or five at the same pace which shows how much confidence the car was giving me. I was flat out in corners, I have never been flat out in. Just really shows the how much the engineers and mechanics have worked on this team to make a gret car. We just didn’t have the overall performance we thought we would have after Practice 2. The guys and gals at WTR gave me a fantastic race car. Unfortunately, P7 today. We will have to think through how to maximize the start tomorrow.”
