2025 GTP Road America Pre Race Report

After a historic double podium at Watkins Glen International, Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing heads to Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, for the next stop on the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship calendar: Road America. The No. 10 and No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R duo return from their mid-summer break ready to build on momentum heading into the final sprint event weekend of the year.

The No. 10 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R, piloted by Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque, enters the weekend coming off two consecutive podiums at Detroit and Watkins Glen. The duo nearly won at Road America in 2024 after starting from pole but fell to the back of the field after a late strategy call. With Taylor finishing the race, the two-time Road America winner was able to charge through traffic and secure a third-place finish. As the No. 10 car has shown strong qualifying and race pace throughout this season, Taylor and Albuquerque aim to convert that speed into a long-awaited victory.

In the No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R, Jordan Taylor and Louis Delétraz also arrive at Road America riding a wave of momentum after securing a second-place finish at Watkins Glen, their best finishing result of the 2025 so far. The pair started second at Road America last year in a WTR front row sweep and led early laps. The No. 40 team’s determination at Watkins Glen set the team up for future success, now they look to continue the positive performance in hopes of translating to standing on the top step of the podium.

“Coming off a double podium, it gives everyone on the team a lot of excitement going to Road America,” said Wayne Taylor, Team Owner. “I know the team has done a lot of work to the car and this is a track that we’ve always done well at – we won there in 2022 and were on pole last year. I’m excited to get there and try for another double podium but let’s get to the top step. Now, it’s clear to us that we need to get a win. We have put a ton on focus on every aspect of the program for the GTP car to hopefully go out and win.”

The fan-favorite weekend at Road America will begin with practice at 3:00 p.m. ET on Friday, August 1. Practice 2 is set for 10:05 a.m. ET on Saturday, August 2, with qualifying that evening at 6:55 p.m. ET. The Motul SportsCar Grand Prix will see the green flag wave at 2:10 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 3. The full race will be available to watch on Peacock

Ricky Taylor, full season co-driver, No. 10 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “Road America is always one of our favorite weekends of the year. The track is one of the best in the world and the race is always unpredictable. Momentum is always important in racing, but we are still focusing on finding on track performance. Results are nice, but we must keep working hard to keep the pace. It was a great qualifying result last year, but it’s a totally new thing this year for us. We would love to repeat that result, but for us, using our experience of what we’ve learned so far this year seems to be the most relevant.”

Filipe Albuquerque, full season co-driver, No. 10 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “Road America is one of my favorite tracks of the year and in the world. I have great memories from Road America in the past with WTR. After two podiums in a row with the No. 10, we want to continue the streak and continue the momentum. I think we are really close to third in the championship with three races to go. So, we will go there and do our job. Again, another podium would be awesome, maybe even a win. We will work hard and see what we get.”

Jordan Taylor, full season co-driver, No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “I think we’re all excited and motivated coming into Road America. Not just coming off our double podium at Watkins Glen, but also the GTD car winning in Mosport. Everyone on the WTR team is feeling quite good. I think we’ve turned a corner the past few races and are much more on top of the Cadillac. With such limited running, it took us a few races to find our rhythm, but with the No. 10 car on the podium in Detroit and then our double podium in Watkins Glen, I think we are quite confident now moving forward. Road America is always a tough event. We were very strong there last year. I think the team knows how to build a strong car for that track, so hopefully we can have a good start to the weekend and be fighting for a win come Sunday.”

Louis Delétraz, full season co-driver, No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “I love Road America, one of my favorite tracks on the calendar and the last sprint race of the year. It’s good to be back after a few weeks away from racing. I think the Cadillac V-Series.R will be strong at this track. We just had our best result of the year with the podium at Watkins Glen, that’s positive and we want to keep the momentum going. Let’s keep it clean, execute and hopefully bring back another double podium home!”
