2025 GTP SIX HOURS OF THE GLEN PRE RACE REPORT

Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing returns to the iconic Watkins Glen International for the third round of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup. In 2024, the team showed strong pace with a pole position and a fourth-place finish and are looking to repeat that success this year. Shifting gears to a true endurance-style race, the duo of Cadillac V-Series.R GTPs travels to Upstate New York to take on the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen. All four Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing drivers head to Watkins Glen fresh off competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Louis Deletraz was crowned the LMP2 Class Winner at Le Mans while both Taylors and Albuquerque made their Hypercar debut, finishing 21st.

After a podium finish in the No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R GTP at Detroit, Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque have their sights set on that top step for Watkins Glen. The duo of Taylor and Albuquerque have a notable history around the Glen, with their most recent victory being in 2022. Currently sitting fifth in the championship standings, the No. 10 team are looking to bring more points home this weekend.

Jordan Taylor and Louis Delétraz will look to add more to their success at Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, coming off of a pole position and fourth-place finish around the New York road course in 2024. The two have proven their proficiency at Watkins Glen International and will focus on rising from tenth in the championship standings and taking the No. 40 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R GTP to the front.

“Going to Watkins Glen after doing the Le Mans 24 Hour is a big deal for us,” said Wayne Taylor, Team Owner. “In fact, if I put my driver’s helmet on, the best tracks in the world are Watkins Glen in the US and Le Mans in Europe. I always love coming to Watkins Glen. One of the things about racing there is that not much has changed in terms of the track and the barriers for so many years. It just reminds me of all the Formula One races that used to happen there. I think now, with the positive result in Detroit, there is a new motivation and passion from everybody to push that much harder to see if we can get both our cars in the top five. It would be nice to get one, or even two, on the podium. Really looking forward to it.”

Ricky Taylor, full season co-driver, No. 10 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “We couldn’t have two more different races than Detroit to Watkins Glen. We are really excited to get back there as we have had good success there in the past. We are riding some good momentum from Detroit, and I think the team has some positivity. We are really clicking now between Cadillac and Wayne Taylor Racing.  It is the mid-point in the season and looking forward to carrying the momentum into the second half.”

Filipe Albuquerque, full season co-driver, No. 10 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “It is going to be the fourth weekend in a row driving the Cadillac V-Series.R (Detroit, Le Mans Test and Race and Watkins Glen). We are having a great time driving, especially after Detroit, which was a good one for the No. 10 car. Le Mans just gets us up on miles with car, understanding more and our own evolution with the car. Watkins Glen is a special one, I think, of the year. We won there before with Ricky, and it was great memories with the team going to Seneca Lodge to celebrate after the win. We want to repeat that. Let’s aim for the podium and see where we are!”

Jordan Taylor, full season co-driver, No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “I am looking forward to Watkins Glen. For the 40 car, we obviously have not had the greatest start to the year. Watkins Glen is one that we had a strong event last year. Louis was on the pole, and we were in contention the last couple hours for a podium. I think the team has positive momentum with the No. 10 car and the result in Detroit. Watkins Glen is always a favorite. Any driver enjoys going there and driving with the IMSA style of racing with multi-class. The flow and high-speed nature of the track is super exciting for the racing. It is one of the tracks we enjoy going back to and a highlight on the IMSA schedule.”

Louis Delétraz, full season co-driver, No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “Looking forward to Watkins Glen. Always a super nice event. It is a very fast track which will suit the Cadillac GTPs. We have not had the easiest start to the season, so we are all motivated to do well and to continue on the way up. It will probably be hot. We will have two drivers, so it will also be quite physical. I think we are all ready and are super excited.”
