2025 LST ROAD AMERICA, ROUND 4

The Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Super Trofeo stable returns to competition at Road America for Rounds 7 and 8 of the LST North America Championship. After a mid-summer break following Watkins Glen, the team looks to build on their strong championship positioning, where they are currently leading with 164 points.

In the PRO class, the No. 1 WTR Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 piloted by Danny Formal and Hampus Ericsson returns to action with sights set on reclaiming their early season dominance. After sweeping the weekend at Sebring and a spectacular finish at Laguna Seca, the No. 1 team faced a tough weekend at Watkins Glen but still remain as championship contenders. Formal, a two-time LSTNA PRO champion and multi-time winner at Road America, will once again pull double duty this weekend in both LST and IMSA GTD class. Ericsson looks to capitalize on the team’s recent test at Road America as track knowledge and hopes to return to victory lane during his first North American racing season.

Nick Persing continues his breakout campaign in the No. 8 WTR Lamborghini in the PRO class. Persing dominated the Laguna Seca weekend and added another overall podium finish at Watkins Glen to stay firmly in the championship mix. As the team’s only solo driver, the California native’s growing confidence will be key in adding another win to his resume at Road America.

In the AM category, Graham Doyle and Glenn McGee in the No. 10 DEX Imaging Lamborghini have taken reins of the class championship. The duo has won five out of the six races this season, giving them a 26-point lead in the standings. Whether it was a steady race win or a victory that came down to the closing minutes, Doyle and McGee have proven to be a force in the AM class. The No. 10 team will look to extend their lead and keep their winning streak alive this weekend in Elkhart Lake.

At Road America this weekend, due to commitments in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), Anthony McIntosh and Wayne Taylor Racing reached an agreement to make the No. 69 PRO|AM entry available to be competed with new a pairing of drivers. In the No. 69 PRO|AM Lamborghini ST will be WTR and LST veteran, Trent Hindman, making his return to Lamborghini Super Trofeo grid. Hindman, who co-drives the No. 45 Lamborghini GTD with Formal in IMSA, is the 2017 LST North America and Overall World PRO|AM Champion. Co-driving the No. 69 PRO|AM is Jackson Lee; the American driver will return to LSTNA after recently competing at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Super Trofeo Driver Quotes

Danny Formal, No. 1 WTR Lamborghini Super Trofeo PRO: “Past halfway in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Championship with Rounds 7 and 8. It’s been an up and down season; being the fastest car out - being P1 in almost every official session and pure pace. A lot of wins have gotten out of our grasps with little things. Trying to rebound the second half of the season and still trying to go for that championship. Hampus and I have been working extremely hard from Watkins Glen to this race. We had a small test and had great pace. The Wayne Taylor Racing crew have been working extremely hard on our LST fleet. Road America is an amazing racetrack for the Lamborghini Super Trofeos, going over 280kph on the front straight. I’m super excited to get going and hopefully we can have some amazing results.”

Hampus Ericsson, No. 1 WTR Lamborghini Super Trofeo PRO: “We did a very productive test as it was my first time ever on that track! The team helped me get up to speed fast and I’m sure we can build even further on that when race weekend begins. Now we have to dig in and find every small detail to be successful as I know we can. Things haven't been going our way lately, but the pace has always been there, it’s all about bringing it all together and I’m sure we can get back to the championship lead!”

Nick Persing, No. 8 WTR Lamborghini Super Trofeo PRO: “Testing at Road America gave us great data on setup and tire management, which will be key for the race weekend. We’re focused on staying consistent and maximizing points as we enter the second half of the season. I’m confident we can bounce back after New York and fight at the front.”

Graham Doyle, No. 10 WTR Lamborghini Super Trofeo AM: “Having recently tested at Road America, we gathered valuable data on car setup, tire wear, and how the track evolves over a stint. That test gave us a strong foundation heading into the weekend. The WTR team has been working hard behind the scenes, and we’re confident in the direction we’re heading. Leading the championship and coming off our weekend sweep at Watkins Glen, our goal is to continue staying consistent and capitalizing wherever we can. With the second half of the season underway, our focus is on maximizing every session and continuing to build on our strong results maintaining the lead in the standings.”

Glenn McGee, No. 10 WTR Lamborghini Super Trofeo AM: "An all-around stellar execution by WTR, and an aggressive drive from my team-mate, gave us our most successful race result at Watkins Glen last event; scoring two wins and finishing at the top of both the AM and PRO|AM fields collectively.  Going into the mid-season rounds at Road America, my confidence in this team and the No. 10 DEX Lamborghini, are at an all-time high. I know Graham and I have everything we need to win this 2025 championship and will be focused on extending our lead to get that done for the team. "

Trent Hindman, No. 69 WTR Lamborghini Super Trofeo PRO|AM: “It’s a welcome and quite unexpected opportunity to jump back aboard a Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo. I believe it’s been seven years since I last raced one of these cars, but I certainly have not forgotten how fun they are to drive and how close the racing can be. The opportunity to share a car with someone who you haven’t driven with before and who’s as quick and dedicated to their craft as Jackson is always an exciting prospect as well. I look forward to seeing what we can learn from each other and the results I know we, and WTR, are capable of achieving.”

Jackson Lee, No. 69 WTR Lamborghini Super Trofeo PRO|AM: “I’m thrilled to be joining Wayne Taylor Racing and Trent Hindman for the Road America rounds of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo season! We’ve got a strong lineup, and I’m confident we’re set up for success. I’m grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get to work! This is a big step forward for me, and I’m looking forward to learning from one of the top teams in the paddock. Sharing the car with a driver like Trent, who’s had success at every level, is an incredible chance to grow and push myself. It’s also very cool to share a car with another former Team USA Scholarship winner!”
