The 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship continues this weekend at Sebring International Raceway as the Wayne Taylor Racing GTD team challenges for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring for their third consecutive year. The No. 45 DEX Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 team led by full season drivers, Trent Hindman and Danny Formal, alongside endurance co-driver, Graham Doyle, look to capitalize on their momentum and learnings from their recent test around the 17-turn road course.
This No. 45 DEX Lamborghini GTD stable of drivers return for their second year in a row racing together at the iconic Florida endurance event, determined to show the progress they have made since the Rolex 24 season opener; where they fought their way back from a two-lap deficit and ultimately secured an eighth-place finish. Hindman, is familiar with starting from the front of the grid the 12-hour event as he was the GTD polesitter in 2019 at Sebring and has a best finish of second (2021). For Formal and Doyle, who are both seeking their first podium in the GTD class, will also be keeping busy over the weekend defending their PRO and AM LST Championship titles as they will split track time competing in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Championship season kickoff.
“The No. 45 GTD car keeps getting more and more competitive and with the same three drivers on board, we should continue to grow,” said Wayne Taylor, 1996 winner of the Twelve Hours of Sebring and Team Co-Owner. They were 8th at Daytona this year after an impressive run and had a great test recently at Sebring. All three drivers have spent a lot of time in the car, helping each other. I feel that we will have a strong performance in Sebring!”
The No. 45 DEX Lamborghini Wayne Taylor Racing team will begin their Sebring preparations with three practice sessions on Thursday, March 19, ahead of the qualifying session on Friday, March 20, at 11:25 a.m. ET. The 12-hour race clock begins at 10:10 a.m. ET on Saturday, March 21, as the field will see the green flag fly for the 74th Running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring with the full broadcast available on Peacock.
Trent Hindman, full season co-driver, No. 45 DEX Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2: “Having come painfully close to winning this race twice in the past, personal experience would point towards executing a flawless race. Easier said than done, and applicable advice to all race events, but Sebring especially will penalize a mistake on any front. Having a quick car certainly helps, but staying as close to perfect as possible will keep us in the mix to the very end. The WTR No. 45 DEX Lamborghini team executed an incredibly well-run race at the Rolex 24, so between that and the team’s previous success at Sebring, we may be in for a good one here. I love the track and this race - the history, the stories, and yes, the bumps. To me, it creates a unique opportunity for the driver to have a more significant influence over the performance of the car relative to other racetracks we visit throughout the year, especially when conditions get tough; hot, humid, and low grip.
I would almost venture so far to say that our test last month was one of the most enlightening and successful tests we’ve had in my time with the WTR GTD team. It was a reasonably uneventful two days where we were able to execute a very thorough run plan, with the end result being a car that all three drivers were very comfortable with. You never really know where everyone’s true level of performance lies until we actually go racing, but we’re confident in the package we’ve pieced together during our test.”
Danny Formal, full season co-driver, No. 45 DEX Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2: “The Twelve Hours of Sebring, the second biggest race of the year. I’m super excited to get going. This has been a difficult track for us in the Lamborghini, and we had a fantastic test last month and the team did good to get the car comfortable over the bumps and good over a long stint in the heat, something that we struggled with last year. To try to get a top five position at a race like this would mean a lot to us and could start this championship with a couple good results. I’m ready to get behind the wheel of the No. 45 Lamborghini again with Graham and Trent and hopefully we can get a great result.”
Graham Doyle, IMEC co-driver, No. 45 DEX Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2: “Sebring is one of the most demanding races on the IMSA calendar, and winning there requires preparation, consistency, and strong teamwork. The race is tough on both the car and the drivers, so reliability and execution over the full distance are key. It’s also a race where patience and strategy play a big role, because staying clean and managing the race properly often makes the difference at the end. The surface at Sebring is very unique, with a lot of bumps and multiple different pavements. All of which present a real challenge for car setup, as you need a balance between compliance over the bumps and maintaining good grip and tire life. The test last month was really valuable for the team. We were able to gather useful data, evaluate setup options, and better understand how the car behaves at Sebring, which should help us approach the race weekend more confidently.”
