2026 GTP Long Beach Pre Race Report

Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing prepares to take on the historic 1.97-mile street circuit that is the Grand Prix of Long Beach as they shift gears to the regular season of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The 100-minute sprint race marks the first of the two shortest races on the calendar. As one of the first of two back-to-back races in California, the duo of Cadillac V-Series.R GTPs will look to establish their West Coast presence and seek WTR’s first victory around the Long Beach circuit since 2017.

Full season co-drivers of the No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R GTP, Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque, are set to pair up for their sixth year at this event with the intent to build on their momentum from the previous endurance races to open the season. Taylor has recorded three impressive victories (all alongside brother, and teammate, Jordan Taylor) and two-time polesitter at Long Beach, while Albuquerque boasts two wins along with four pole positions. As they kick off their West Coast tour, the pairing of Taylor and Albuquerque are ready to challenge for the top step of the podium to secure their first win together on Shoreline Drive.

Jordan Taylor and Louis Delétraz, full season co-drivers of the No. 40 Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R GTP, return to Long Beach ready to challenge on the streets after a difficult start to the 2026 season. Taylor is a three-time winner and polesitter around the 11-turn circuit and Delétraz is set to contend for his third attempt with the duo eager for their maiden win as a pairing in the 100-minute sprint race.

“I’m looking forward to Long Beach, we’ve had a lot of success there,” said Wayne Taylor, Team Co-Owner. “It’s a great venue. Our engineers have been working hard with the Cadillac Racing team. Everybody on the Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing team is working hard and everyone is upbeat because we felt in Sebring that we were really competitive. The team and drivers have done an amazing job considering we have had so many unforeseen challenges that have happened. Knowing we’ve won at Long Beach a lot, it’s put a lot more excitement in the team. We finally feel that we can stick to what I always say: I can’t guarantee a win, but we will always be racing for the win. And I think that’s where we are right now.”

With a condensed two-day weekend, capitalizing on the on-track sessions will be critical for the Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing GTP teams at the Grand Prix of Long Beach. Friday, April 17, will see two practice sessions and qualifying closing out the day at 8:45 p.m. ET (5:45 p.m. PT) on Peacock. The 100-minute sprint race on the streets of Long Beach on Saturday, April 18, will go green at 4:05 p.m. ET (1:05 p.m. PT) with streaming available on Peacock.

Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing Driver Quotes

Ricky Taylor, three-time Long Beach winner and full season co-driver, No. 10 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “We get back to our normal race weekend routine at Long Beach, focusing on the small details to execute the whole weekend as well as we can. Everything in Long Beach is important, starting from Practice 1. Everything has to be right from practice through the race. No flat spots in practice, good qual prep, good qualifying, perfect pit stop/driver change. There is no room for any errors if we are going to win this race.”

Filipe Albuquerque, two-time Long Beach winner and full season co-driver, No. 10 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “I think that the No. 10 car is coming from a hard start to the season with results, but the pace is there. The results comprise the hard work and the true pace that we’ve had. At Sebring, I think we won the race to be honest, we were the best of the rest. So let’s go again at Long Beach. I think the whole Cadillac WTR team is motivated. I can’t wait to go again, head out to Long Beach and go for a win!”

Jordan Taylor, three-time Long Beach winner and full season co-driver, No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “Long Beach is all about execution. Every aspect of the weekend is important in order to get a good result. If you get a little behind in practice, it’s hard to catch back up to the rest of the field. Qualifying is important to set you up for a short sprint race where track position is crucial. And then in the race, you only have one pit stop to make or break your race. It takes every member of the team to execute to have a good result, and I feel very confident in all our guys and girls to do just that.”

Louis Delétraz, full season co-driver, No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R: “I’m really excited for Long Beach, it’s always a great event. It’s very short at only two days. Friday is always very busy with all of the practices and qualifying. Obviously, it’s a different approach from Daytona and Sebring where we were fast but in endurance races you need to survive the first hours and race towards the end, but here at Long Beach it’s a full sprint. You want to up front and stay up front. It’s really a full push. I think a crucial aspect of the weekend will be pure pace and racing hard. It’s street race, the surface is different and bumpy – the walls are everywhere and doesn’t forgive mistakes. So, it’s always exciting and I’m sure Cadillac will do great; it’s always strong on street tracks and bumpy tracks. I’m looking forward to driving the V-Series.R around the streets of California.”
