The Wayne Taylor Racing (WTR) Lamborghini Super Trofeo (LST) team opened the 2026 North America Championship with an impressive performance at Sebring International Raceway, bringing home two wins and four total podium finishes across the PRO and PRO|AM classes.
In the pack for the competitive PRO class, Hampus Ericsson and Nick Persing kicked off their debut race as a driver pairing in the No. 1 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST. A strong qualifying performance secured their second place start on the grid for both races, giving them prime track positions for the doubleheader. In Race 1, Ericsson began the race maintaining their position through the duration of the stint. A smooth driver change to Persing carried them through to the checkered flag with a spot on the second step of the podium as the first 50 minutes ran caution free. For Race 2, Persing started off behind the wheel, taking the car through a series of two yellow flags, and a fantastic restart with 20-minutes to go that put him up to second overall. With a little over 15 minutes left in the race, Ericsson took to the wheel following their mandatory pit stop and was on the charge, contending for the overall race lead until the final lap before earning another second-place result to cap off the weekend.
Al Morey IV and James Wallis entered their weekend a first-time driving duo in LST with a strong qualifying placing them fourth and sixth on the grid for Race 1 and 2, respectively. Morey IV took to the field first for the 50-minute race, and unfortunately made light contact on the start, sliding the No. 7 down the running order. Wallis then took over for the duration of the race aiming to gain positions forward. At the checkered, Wallis would finish sixth in the PRO class. Wallis started off in sixth place for Race 2 but was spun on the opening lap. Morey IV took over with less than 20 minutes to spare due lengthy cautions in the first half of the race. The limited green-flag racing saw Morey IV and the No. 7 LST team finish in tenth.
In the No. 10 DEX Lamborghini Huracán ST, piloted by Graham Doyle and Danny Formal, the pair opened the season in dominant fashion, first claiming their first PRO|AM pole position. The duo – who are both running “double duty” this weekend as the drivers of the No. 45 DEX Lamborghini in the GTD class – ran an impressive first race with Formal securing the fastest lap during his stint, before Doyle took over securing a PRO|AM win and second overall. Starting Race 2 from fourth on the grid, Doyle managed to move himself up the pack two places overall in his stint where the field saw multiple yellows during the first half of the race. Formal took over with less than 20 minutes to go, and he quickly moved his way up through the field undercutting in the mandatory pit stop window. Formal would go on to win the second PRO|AM win of the weekend – leading the PRO|AM Championship standings exiting Sebring.
Paul Nemschoff and Marc Miller returned to Sebring as a familiar pair in the LST field, but as a new addition to the WTR stable of drivers. Nemschoff and Miller secured themselves an eight place and first place class start for Race 1 and Race 2 respectively, showcasing their ability to compete behind the wheel of the No. 41 Metro Sound Pros Lamborghini Huracán ST in the PRO|AM class. Nemschoff started off the pair in Race 1, where he demonstrated his ability to challenge by moving up to seventh place before a drive-through penalty set him back during his stint. Miller took over for his stint, ultimately securing a ninth-place finish. In Race 2, Miller started at the front of the pack on pole position and maintained their position through multiple restarts and on-track incidents. Nemschoff made his way behind the wheel with a little under 15-minutes to go, but the limited amount of green track time mixed with their pit stop sequence led to a battle of traffic for the closing minutes making it tricky to gain positions. The No. 41 Metro Sound Pros PRO|AM ended the weekend finishing in seventh.
Wayne Taylor Racing’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo team will next head to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on May 1-3, 2026, for the second doubleheader weekend of the season.
Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Super Trofeo Driver Quotes
Hampus Ericsson, No. 1 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO) – “We just wrapped up the first LST weekend of the year finishing P2 in the PRO class in both races for me and Nick. We had a mega car all weekend, just a few small little things we were?lacking to get the W, but?great?momentum?and the WTR team gave us a mega car all weekend. Looking forward to Laguna Seca where we will have some redemption."?
Nick Persing, No. 1 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO) – "It was a great weekend here in Sebring coming away second in the Championship, you can't complain.?I do think we had the pace for some wins, but the WTR gave us an amazing car, and we did what we could. The No. 29 car was a fast car; I think it's going to be a slug fest between us and them all season. I'm looking forward to Laguna Seca, my home race. I'll have a lot of people there, and I know that track pretty well. Hopefully we can get two wins there."
Al Morey IV, No. 7 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO) – "For Race 1, the car was in really good condition for me to start the race.?We had a really good setup, and the team did a good job getting the car from qualifying to the race. In Turn 1, we got tagged and lost a few positions and moved out the way. So, from there, the whole race we were unfortunately stuck there in P6 unable to go any further. It's hard to pass around Sebring and kind of hard to follow as well. We did what we could with it. I made a couple mistakes on my end as well that we were able to fix. In Race 2, James got spun on the start by another driver.?We had a really good car even with a bit of front-end damage. We were able to crawl back to P10 at the checkered flag. Even with the damage, the team did a really good job all weekend. I'm excited for Laguna Seca, we will have a good set up for there. Hopefully we can avoid some the carnage of the first race weekend and have a better weekend in California. Thanks to the WTR team for everything."?
James Wallis, No. 7 WTR Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO) – "Overall, it's been an interesting trip to America to say the least.?This was my first time ever in the States and it's all a new experience. As soon as I walked up to testing last week, the WTR team were super helpful. They taught me loads in the short space of time which I've had to learn Sebring and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Huracán EVO2. I think I'm very happy with the job we have done and the WTR team have supported me all the way throughout last week's testing and this race weekend. I think we had more in the car this weekend, but a little bit of rookie errors for myself and Al didn't quite lead to the results we were hoping for. I think from here we can develop forward.?In the race, we showed really strong pace throughout and I’m really looking forward to next rounds, and I think me and Al could really be in the fight for the top results in this Championship."?
Graham Doyle, No. 10 DEX Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO|AM) – "A great weekend overall and so happy to finally be working with Danny in Super Trofeo, it's like a dream come true. This is my fourth year in Super Trofeo, and I've worked alongside Danny all those years, but working with him in the car I just feel like I'm learning so much. The influx of information, working in the exact same car, is unbelievable and unparalleled. This team is just amazing. I want to thank everyone at Wayne Taylor Racing, at DEX; they gave us a rocket ship this weekend, and it showed. Winners in Race 1 and Race 2, pole in Race 1 and fastest in both races - you can't ask for much more than that."?
Danny Formal, No. 10 DEX Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO|AM) – "Overall a great weekend with two overall top fives with third yesterday and a fourth today and two PRO|AM wins. A phenomenal job by Graham and by the WTR team. Fast lap of the race in Race 1 and in Race 2 just shows how good our car is and how good the WTR group is.?WTR, DEX, Lamborghini Palm Beach - everybody is working extremely hard and they gave us a rocket ship. I'm super happy and couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. We will keep working and try to make the car even faster for Laguna Seca."
Paul Nemschoff, No. 41 Metro Sound Pros Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO|AM) – “It was an interesting first weekend, not the one we wanted, but we'll pick up some pieces we learned, and it's a long season to go. Great?first ?weekend with Wayne Taylor?Racing. The car prep was exceptional. The team was fantastic?and?on point. They made sure that we really had the tools that we needed to perform all the way throughout. Mark and I, we had some really good sessions together.? We had some good laps. I think we have a very good basis for the rest of the season. But we were?naturally?hoping for more.?Looking forward to Laguna Seca.”
Marc Miller, No. 41 Metro Sound Pros Lamborghini Huracán ST (PRO|AM) – “This was my first experience with Wayne Taylor?Racing. Obviously, on their team, not racing against them, which was a great experience for me.? For a long time, I have been a competitor against WTR and all the guys, but it's surprising just how welcoming with?open arms everyone was. All the drivers are just great to be around, and the team is very organized and gave us an amazing car. We were?able to take the pole in qualifying and starting the front row overall. We ran there during the race?and?the car was fantastic.?We had some unfortunate incidents in?Race?1?and?in Race 2 slipped back a little bit.?But overall, a really solid weekend. Happy to get on with the rest of the season and head to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in a short few weeks.”
