INDIANAPOLIS (September 4, 2012) – For the second year in a row, the No. 10 SunTrust Corvette Dallara DP of Wayne Taylor Racing (WTR) and co-drivers Max Angelelli and Ricky Taylor will sport a special Toshiba-themed paint scheme for the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series Continental Tire Sports Car Festival on Sunday, Sept. 9, at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca near Monterey, Calif.

Toshiba America Business Solutions, the Irvine, Calif.-based independent operating company of Toshiba Corp., and a longtime partner with Wayne Taylor and the racing team that bears his name since the 2007 Rolex Series season, is looking to maximize its presence at the only California stop on the Rolex Series tour. In addition, dealer-partner ZOOM Imaging, based in nearby Sacramento, Calif., will utilize the event and its relationship with Toshiba to entertain customers and follow up with sales event following the race weekend.

“We are so excited to have a larger presence at the historic Laguna Seca track this weekend,” said Mark Mathews, president and chief executive officer for Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. (TABS). “Wayne Taylor and our racing team exemplify everything that makes Toshiba the world’s eighth-largest electronics/electrical equipment company … innovation, speed, attention to detail and teamwork. We are delighted that our dealer-partner, ZOOM Imaging, saw this weekend as an opportunity to not only entertain their customers at the racetrack but to maximize their availability by developing two standout sales events following the race at the Club Auto Sport in San Jose and the ZOOM Imaging corporate office in Sacramento. It is truly exciting to work with partners like Wayne Taylor Racing, who not only understand our business, our goal and our objectives but, just as importantly, those of our customers.”

Angelelli and Ricky Taylor co-drove to their fourth of seven consecutive podium finishes in the SunTrust Racing machine when the Rolex Series last visited Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in July 2011. Angelelli and Jan Magnussen co-drove SunTrust Racing to victory in the 2006 Rolex Series race at the 2.238-mile, 11-turn hillside road circuit near Monterey Bay.

“Toshiba has been with me since I was driving Ferraris in the IMSA series back in 1995,” said Wayne Taylor, the three-time sports car racing champion whose Indianapolis-based team has been a perennial championship contender since joining the Rolex Series in 2004. “We love coming to Laguna Seca, which is in Toshiba’s corporate backyard, to race and entertain their top customers and prospects. This year, we took the celebration a step farther by not only painting out the car in Toshiba colors, but by also working with Mark Mathews at Toshiba corporate and Gary Johnson of ZOOM Imaging, Toshiba’s ‘2010-2011 Dealer of the Year,’ to showcase the power of motorsports as a corporate marketing tool.”

Angelelli and Ricky Taylor, who co-drove to back-to-back victories at Homestead-Miami Speedway in April and New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville in May, are in their third season together and have combined for six wins and 18 podium finishes in 32 races, and Taylor has qualified on the pole 10 times.

The Continental Tire Sports Car Festival, round 12 of the 13-race Rolex Series campaign for 2012, begins at 3 p.m. EDT (noon local time) with live television provided by SPEED, as well as live radio on the Motor Racing Network and Sirius/XM Satellite Radio Channel 117.
