WTR Earns Milestone 100th Win in LST Championship

In historic measure, Danny Formal and Hampus Ericsson’s win today in Round 6, Race 1 in Misano, Italy, secured both the 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Driver Championship (PRO) for Wayne Taylor Racing as well as the team’s 100th Lamborghini Super Trofeo win since its start in the series in 2015.

Wayne Taylor, Team Owner, Wayne Taylor Racing

“Super Excited. We must be one of the first teams to win 100 wins in this series. All the drivers really presented themselves well today and did an incredible job. My hat is off to this team. It is not just the driver who wins a race, or the tire changer who wins the race, it is the team as a whole who makes it happen and this team does this race after race, no matter the odds. The team has done an incredible job – the 100th win is a big deal. Clinching the championship the day before the final race of the North American season, gives us some breathing room before the World Finals. I am really looking forward to seeing how we stack up against the world this weekend.”

Travis Houge, Vice President & General Manager, Wayne Taylor Racing

“Great day for Wayne Taylor Racing overall, the drivers did an excellent job today. To come here and to be able to win 100 wins and to win it along with the championship and race win is truly a testament to everything that this team have put into it and what Wayne Taylor Racing is and have worked for over the many years to get to this point. We have one more race tomorrow and we're going to go out and get Glenn and Graham their championship tomorrow and then go try to win this World Finals. We could not be more proud of everybody on this team and the effort that they put into this.”

Danny Formal, Co-Driver, No. 1 (101) Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Super Trofeo (PRO)

“We started very strong at Sebring at the start of the season and have had ups and downs and the last five races of the season we have been on fire. Hampus did awesome today – best stint of his young career with WTR – got a seven-second lead and just kept going. We have been working on one sector, and he figured it out during the race. It was awesome to see. Very proud of him. This is my third championship with the team. Third Championship in four years, second the other year. It is my 28th win with this team and the 100th win for Wayne Taylor Racing. It is so special to be able to bring that to this incredible team. Super excited to continue here in Misano and hopefully bring back a World Finals win back with us to America.”

Hampus Ericsson, Co-Driver, No. 1 (101) Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Super Trofeo (PRO)

“This win is everything. It feels great! This wouldn’t have been possible without this team It is my first season with Wayne Taylor Racing and it has been so good. Every race weekend, on and off the track, the team has really been on it every time. My ‘brother’ here, Danny, has guided me through my first season in America, and the whole year has been incredible. I am learning so much every weekend, every lap. I feel that I am becoming a better driver and am so grateful. To finish it with a Championship, I can’t describe it. Huge thank you to the team. It has been a privilege and great momentum going into the World Finals.”
